Privacy Policy, Terms & Legal Notice
Last updated: November 2025 · Dark Mode for Google Docs & Sheets (the "Extension")
1. Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the Chrome extension Dark Mode for Google Docs & Sheets and to this website, both operated by MELLEPRISE LLC.
The short version
The Extension collects no personal data. It has no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no accounts. Your preferences are stored only in your browser.
What the Extension can access
- Host access: The Extension runs exclusively on
docs.google.compages (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive). It cannot read your documents, other tabs or any other website. - Settings storage: Your choices (dark/light per app, scope, theme intensity) are saved locally via Chrome's
storage.syncso they follow your Chrome profile. This data never reaches our servers. - No server communication: The Extension sends nothing anywhere — no usage statistics, no document content, no device identifiers.
What we do not do
- No collection, sale or sharing of personal information (CalOPPA / CCPA: we have nothing to sell or share).
- No cookies for tracking, no fingerprinting, no third-party scripts on this website.
- No reading, storing or transmitting of your Google documents, spreadsheets or files.
Website server logs
When you visit this website, the hosting provider may process standard technical logs (IP address, browser, timestamp) for security and operation. These logs are not used for profiling and are deleted on a rolling basis.
Children's privacy
The Extension is a productivity tool not directed at children. We knowingly collect no data from anyone — including children under 13 (COPPA).
GDPR — European users
MELLEPRISE LLC is a US company. For users in the EU/EEA, our representative under Article 27 GDPR is:
Salinenstr. 14

Because the Extension processes no personal data on our behalf, GDPR rights (access, erasure, portability) generally have nothing to attach to. If you still have questions, contact us or our EU representative any time.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the Extension introduces optional features that involve data (e.g. account-based sync), this policy will be updated before those features ship, and the change will be announced on this page.

2. Terms of Use
License
We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Extension for personal and business purposes.
Free core product
The core dark-mode functionality is free. If optional paid features are introduced later, they will be clearly labeled — nothing you installed for free becomes paid retroactively.
No affiliation with Google
The Extension is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC. "Google Docs", "Google Sheets", "Google Slides", "Google Drive" and "Chrome" are trademarks of Google LLC, used here only to describe compatibility.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misrepresent the Extension as a Google product, not to distribute modified copies under our name, and not to use it in violation of applicable law or Google's terms of service.
Warranty & liability
The Extension is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MELLEPRISE LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from its use. If Google changes its interfaces and the Extension temporarily stops working, we will fix it in a commercially reasonable timeframe — that is the whole deal.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA.
